Customers can order from multiple restaurants simultaneously and pay through a concessionaire kiosk. The project involved redesigning the concessionaire mode on a Samsung kiosk.
This concessionaire kiosk was developed based on a request from The Aurora Eatery. Due to a tight timeframe, the design process had to skip the sketching and wireframing phases. The previous concessionaire mode resulted in longer ordering times, as customers had to navigate multiple restaurants with diverse cuisines while also considering allergies and special dietary needs. Furthermore, since the concessionaire mode concept is new, many customers are unaware that they can place orders from multiple restaurants simultaneously and complete the payment in a single transaction.
The Challenge
The Results
Food Filters (Allergens, Diet Types, and Cuisine Types) were added to the updated concessionaire kiosk to help customers quickly identify their options when placing orders. This improvement addressed the issue of slower ordering times for clients with allergies or special dietary needs. Additionally, the user experience was enhanced by incorporating a brief guide on the homepage, offering more straightforward instructions for customers new to the concessionaire kiosk.
